Here are two of the three illustrations in color comp format: the Traditional Grouping, and the Genetic Distance Grouping. I hope to have the Family Tree Grouping ready for you by Wednesday or Thursday. There are also a number of detailed closeups of the different animals.

Right now, the graphics are starting out at a very large size, since I'm not sure what the final size is intended to be. I'll be able to better adjust the paper texture, highlights, and shadows when I have that information, as then I can make sure that everything's to scale. The closeups will show you the details which I hope to get into the final illustration, no matter what scale it is.

The illustrations are not stark black and white, but instead I've infused the "paper" with a bit of a warm tone. If that doesn't work well with your other layout elements or photos, let me know and I can adjust it to a neutral or to a cool tone instead. The background currently has a bit of that paper texture as well, which I could extend out a bit so that you could give it a subtle fade into your layout.

Let me know what you think!
